Overview

michael-shelton.com is my personal author website. I try to keep data collection minimal. The site does not provide user accounts, comments, advertising, or an on-site newsletter database.

Information you choose to send

If you contact me, the information you provide may include your name, email address, reason for contacting me, and the contents of your message. The contact form submits that information securely to the site's server-side contact endpoint for delivery by email. The site does not maintain a separate contact-message database.

If you ask to receive writing updates by email, I may retain your email address for that purpose until you ask to be removed.

Hosting and technical information

This site is hosted by Vercel. Like most web-hosting infrastructure, Vercel may process technical request information necessary to deliver, secure, and operate the site, such as IP addresses, browser or device information, request timestamps, and server logs. Contact-form delivery is handled through Resend. These service providers may process information needed to transmit and deliver messages under their own privacy terms.

Cookies and analytics

I do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party behavioral advertising on this site. I also do not currently run a separate third-party analytics service for visitor profiling. If that changes, this policy will be updated.

How I use information

Information you send is used to respond to messages, manage requested writing updates, maintain the site, and address abuse or security issues. I do not sell personal information to advertisers.

External links

This site links to other websites, including nonprofits and official reporting resources. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Leaving this site means your interaction is subject to the destination site's terms and privacy practices.

Retention and deletion

Email correspondence may be retained as long as it remains useful for the reason it was sent. You can ask me to delete personal information that I control, subject to any legitimate need to retain a record for security, legal, or administrative purposes.

Children's privacy

This site is not designed to collect personal information from children. The reporting resources page links directly to organizations equipped to handle child-safety concerns.
